What you’ll be doing
BAO CAFÉ in New Kasama, Lusaka, is expanding its professional team and seeks a hands-on Manager to oversee daily café operations while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, service, and guest satisfaction.

- Supervise daily opening, operating, and closing procedures across the café.
- Coordinate team schedules, staff assignments, attendance, and shift handovers.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and workplace standards in line with company procedures.
- Monitor customer service, resolve guest concerns professionally, and promote a welcoming café environment.
- Track stock levels, support purchasing and receiving, and help control food waste and operating costs.
- Review sales, cash handling, inventory, and operational records for accuracy.
- Train, coach, and motivate employees while supporting consistent service and product quality.
- Work with the café leadership team to improve processes, sales performance, and customer experience.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated ability to supervise restaurant, café, hospitality, or food-service operations.
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene, sanitation, safe handling, and workplace cleanliness practices.
- Practical experience with staff scheduling, shift coordination, training, and performance follow-up.
- Customer-focused communication and confidence handling complaints or operational issues.
- Ability to monitor stock, reduce waste, maintain records, and support cost control.
- Sound cash-handling, sales-reporting, and basic administrative skills.
- Organized, dependable, calm under pressure, and able to lead by example during busy periods.
- Comfortable using basic point-of-sale, inventory, and office record systems.
