Role overview:
Provide combined technical mining engineering support and commercial/financial stewardship for site operations. Report to senior operations leadership and work with multidisciplinary teams to support mine planning, production optimization, cost control and vendor management.

Role overview:
Provide combined technical mining engineering support and commercial/financial stewardship for site operations. Report to senior operations leadership and work with multidisciplinary teams to support mine planning, production optimization, cost control and vendor management.
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day mining engineering support including mine planning, grade control, drilling coordination and production optimization.
- Prepare and review short-term production plans, schedules and material movement forecasts with operations and maintenance teams.
- Manage project and operational budgets, monitor expenditures against forecasts, and produce regular financial reports and month-end reconciliations for site management.
- Oversee procurement and vendor invoicing processes for engineering-related services and materials; ensure invoice accuracy and timely payments.
- Coordinate with geology, metallurgy and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues affecting cost and schedule.
- Support safety, environmental and regulatory compliance in site operations.
- Travel between sites and work shifts as required to provide operational support.
What we’re looking for
- Must-have: Degree in Mining Engineering or related engineering discipline with demonstrated site experience.
- Technical: Understanding of mine planning, production scheduling, grade control and conventional mining methods.
- Financial/Commercial: Proven experience managing site budgets, cost control, and basic accounting reconciliation processes.
- Software/Tools: Proficiency with mine-planning software or spreadsheets for scheduling and production forecasting; strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Procurement: Experience with procurement processes, vendor management and invoice verification.
- Reporting: Ability to prepare clear operational and financial reports for management including month-end reconciliations.
- Other: Familiarity with safety, environmental and regulatory practices; strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
